Artist Statement
Our realities are more unstable than we like to admit. Time slips, memories shift, relationships evolve. What feels anchored can quickly come undone. Still, we build structures to try to hold them in place.
My work examines these attempts at preservation. I’m interested in how structure is both imposed and participated in—through repetition, care, what we choose to reveal or conceal.
I use materials like vintage glass and decorative finishes, which are tied to fragility and upkeep, to investigate how we construct and then maintain what cannot be fixed—especially in the contexts of marriage, motherhood, and domestic life.
Across different bodies of work, I return to similar questions: What does it mean to hold something together over time? What are the costs of keeping it intact? And at what point does preservation begin to feel like containment?
